Zionism, the Vatican and other evils

Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored – Aldous Huxley

Across the years I have watched with dismay as the world ignores grave violations of human rights. Our leaders look the other way. Malevolent  ideologies operate freely as rational debate is suppressed. It is important to me to challenge those wrongs.

This blog seeks to expose two evils. Writing it helps to clarify and articulate my own thoughts.

Strenuous efforts have been made in recent years to conflate disapproval of Zionism with anti-Semitism – a deliberate strategy to stifle criticism of aggressive, inhumane and racist Israeli government policies. This is not an anti-Jewish or anti-Semitic blog. At the same time, criticism of Israel and Zionism here should not be construed as approval of Islam.

Likewise condemnation of the evils of organised religion, specifically the Vatican, should not be interpreted as criticism of many well-intentioned lay Catholics who live meaningful and caring lives. It is shameful that the church claims credit for their good works.

I intend to stick to facts; stay on topic; keep it simple; keep it short, in the hope of conveying a clear message. Please contact me if I fail. Equally if you find errors of fact, have suggestions for improving the blog, or for additional topics, use the contact form. Strong, impactful statements deserve to be repeated – if I have plagiarised or used illustrations without due credit, let me know.
